An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Upon approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
3. Cookies
- Comments: Cookies save your name and email for one year for your convenience.
- Login: Temporary cookies check browser compatibility. Login cookies last 2 days; screen options last 1 year. “Remember Me” extends login to 2 weeks.
- Editing: A 1-day cookie tracks post IDs for editors.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely. For registered users, we store personal information provided in user profiles. Users can see, edit, or delete their information at any time (except usernames).

You can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you or request that we erase your data. This excludes data held for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
